"Adversity and resiliency are key components to my art-making process. Whether I am painting, drawing, or sculpting, each artwork is a reflection of myself, a self-portrait. To give authenticity and meaning to my work, the process is evident of my daily life, filled with love, joy, pain, and uncertainty. As such, both the additive and subtractive methods are necessary to build layers of history, layers of life and daily living. I work with aggressive and energetic mark making.  I add large amounts of paint, scrape and erase, and manipulate forms so that my final results demonstrate a push and pull, a construction and deconstruction; representative of what it takes to be human. “
